Questions from bus operators

Bus ticket machine FAQ

What is a bus ticket machine (ETM)?

An ETM (electronic ticketing machine) is the handheld device a conductor uses to print tickets. The conductor keys in the destination stage and ticket type; the machine works out the fare, prints the ticket and records it for the day's collection report. Read our guide: What is an ETM machine?

Does it work without mobile network?

Yes. Tickets print and are stored on the machine with no network at all. The SMS version also texts trip and day summaries to the owner, and the online version uploads tickets over 2G mobile data or Wi-Fi.

Can we start offline and move to SMS or online later?

Yes. All three versions run on the same MP7510 handheld, so you can begin offline and move up when you are ready, without replacing the machines.

Can it print tickets in Tamil?

Yes. The bus app prints tickets in Tamil or English. There are separate builds for Tamil Nadu and Kerala routes.

How are fares and routes set up?

Routes, stages and fares are set up once on a Windows computer in your office and copied to each machine by USB. When fares change, you update the table and reload the machines.

Can you change the app for our operation?

Yes. We build custom versions to your fare rules, ticket layout and reports, offline, over SMS or fully online. Tell us how your buses run on WhatsApp and we will suggest the right setup.

How much does a bus ticket machine cost?

The MP7510 handheld is ₹9,999. App pricing depends on the version and the size of your fleet; message us on WhatsApp for a quote.
